Coast Guard Searching for Overboard Cruise Passenger

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for cruise passenger who went overboard earlier this morning on Carnival Ecstasy multiple news outlets are reporting.

The 32 year old female passenger went overboard at approximately 2:30 am. A passenger on board said that they saw the woman, who was wearing a white dress with pink floral, jumping overboard from the 11th deck.

The U.S. Coast Guard has launched air and boat crews and is currently searching for the woman. The incident happened about 15 miles off the coast of Grand Bahama Island.  Carnival Ecstasy is currently on a five night cruise to the Bahamas from Charleston, South Carolina.  The ship is scheduled to arrive back in Charleston on Thursday. The cruise ship aided in the search until the Coast Guard released the vessel to return to Charleston at 9:00 am.
