At least two of the three new cruise ships on order from Disney Cruise Line will be based out of Port Canaveral, Florida according to comments made by the port’s CEO John Murray.
Disney Cruise Line has three new cruise ships set to debut in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Each new ship will be approximately 140,000 gross tons and each is currently planned to include about 1,250 guest staterooms.
Port CEO John Murray said that Port Canaveral will have a new Disney cruise ship debuting a year after a new Carnival ship (Carnival Cruise Line’s first 180,000 gross ton LNG powered vessel). He went on to say that a second new Disney ship will debut a year after the first Disney ship.
Disney Cruise Line currently has four cruise ships in service and all four have made Port Canaveral their first homeport. Disney’s two largest and newest cruise ships, Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream, both currently sail out of the port.
What do we know about these three new cruise ships from Disney Cruise Line? The cruise line has yet to release many details about these new ships.
