Norwegian Cruise Line and announced the winners of the Cruising for Names contest. The winning names are the Norwegian Breakaway first submitted by Kim Powell of Lafayette, Louisiana and the Norwegian Getaway first submitted by Dennis Hultman of Vienna, Virginia.
There were thousands of different names submitted for the USA Today contest where cruisers were allowed to help name 2 new NCL Project Breakaway ships. The 5 finalists for names were:
- Norwegian Bliss, first submitted by David Menker of Dallas, Texas
- Norwegian Breakaway, first submitted by Kim Powell of Lafayette, Louisiana
- Norwegian Escape, first submitted by Joseph Funigiello of Naples, Florida
- Norwegian Getaway, first submitted by Dennis Hultman of Vienna, Virginia
- Norwegian Journey, first submitted by Florence Pflaster of Carolina Shores, North Carolina
Kim Powell and Dennis Hultman will receive an exclusive invitation to the Christening Ceremony in 2013. They will also receive round trip airfare for 2, a balcony stateroom, transportation to the port and more.
