Two more cruise lines have canceled cruise ship visits to San Juan, Puerto Rico due to protests in the city.
MSC Cruises and Celebrity Cruises both canceled port stops to San Juan on Monday. MSC Seaside and Celebrity Equinox were both scheduled to visit the Caribbean island but stayed at sea.
Celebrity Cruises said that the reason for the canceled port call to San Juan was out of concern for the safety and well being of their passengers and crew members.
Last week, Royal Caribbean was the first cruise line to cancel port visits to San Juan when riots broke out in Old San Juan.
On Sunday, a Carnival Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean cruise ship both returned to San Juan where each ship is based. Carnival Fascination and Freedom of the Seas each sail seven night cruises to the Southern Caribbean from Puerto Rico.
Cruise lines are currently taking the situation in San Juan day to day. Last week, Royal Caribbean made one ship visit to San Juan while canceling two others.
Cruise lines have five more cruise ship visits scheduled for San Juan for the rest of this week.
