Carnival Cruise Line has updated their HUB app with new features that is now available on all 25 cruise ships in their fleet.
The popular HUB app is a free download that not only lets you chat with other friends and family who are on board, but also gives fast access to everything that is happening on board the ship. Note, a fee of $5 per device per cruise is required to activate the chat feature (the rest of the features come at no cost).
New features include:
- View dining menus right on your phone
- Weather for each day of your sailing
- Searchable deck plans
- Easily search for family and friends on board to connect with
- Find information like dining attire easily
- New, fresh homepage design for easy access to the latest most relevant information
With the Hub app, you can have an easy way of tracking your Sail & Sign account, view ship maps to help you navigate the vessel (including a searchable deck plans), see a schedule of events so you can track all of the exciting things going on, see all of the food and drink options on board, and save your favorites so you won’t forget about an event that you want to go to.
On select ships, you can purchase shore excursions and have the ability to view and purchase the professional photos that you have taken on board on the HUB app.
The Hub app is available for Android and Apple devices and can be downloaded here.
Perhaps now they can focus on fixing the website so we can use the iPad & iPhone to search cruises. Called the customer service to say it is impossible to search the website as it freezes with these devices and was told that they are aware of this problem and have been working to fix it . They confirmed that the IT group has been working on it for several months without success!!!
Not sure why the senior executives have not followed up to make this happen faster based on the number of negative comments on social media. Perhaps they could hire some of the IT folks from the competition who obviously know how to build a website that works with Apple products…sad!!!
Trust me the Hub sucks big time pay $5 per device half the time there is no internet connection total waste of money and time!
The only ship that has the picture view/purchase function is Vista, and I’m assuming Horizon once it sets sail.
I am confused about the use of the HUB app. Do you need to pay for an internet connection on the ship to use this app?
No its free, but if you want to add the feature to text your friends/family on board you can click a button and it charges your acct $5 per device.
No, you go into airplane mode after which you will see the Carnival ship wifi that you connect to. That is the only way the Hub App will work
No. I was on the Carnival Breeze in March, 2017 and did not have to pay for an Internet connection to use the HUB app.
