Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the itinerary that the Norwegian Getaway will sail in early 2014. The Getaway will sail week long cruises out of the Port of Miami to the Eastern Caribbean. The cruises will embark on Saturdays with two sea days before arriving in Philipsburg, St Maarten. The following day will be a stop in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands with a sea day to follow before the last day in Nassau, Bahamas.
NCL also announced that the Getaway will be delivered in late January 2014, earlier than originally scheduled. The Getaway is a sister ship of the Norwegian Breakaway that is currently being built and is scheduled to set sail in the spring of 2013.
Norwegian has yet to announce the many features that the Getaway will have. They have stated that the ship will hold 4,000 passengers and will offer passengers revolutionary new options at sea.
Reservations for the Getaway will be open to the public on October 22, 2012.
The Norwegian Breakaway and Getaway are both part of Project Breakaway. NCL ran a contest and the two ship names were chosen from the thousands that were submitted to them.
Cruise Fever will continue to provide updates as Norwegian announces more features of these two new ships.
