Le Marin is reporting that MSC Cruises could have an announcement in Paris as soon as Wednesday for an order for an additional four cruise ships.
These four new cruise ships are in addition to the seven that the cruise line currently has on order. The ships will be built at STX France with the final one completed in 2024. No other cruise line has more than five vessels on order or currently under construction.
MSC Cruises currently has four Meraviglia class ships (two are Meraviglia Plus class ships) and two, with an option for a third, Seaside class ships on order. Two of these ships are currently under construction, MSC Meraviglia and MSC Seaside. MSC Seaside, the hottest new cruise ship in 2017, will homeport in PortMiami starting in December 2017 and sail week long cruises to the Caribbean.
