A storm in the Atlantic Ocean forced Royal Caribbean to make yet another change to an itinerary for Anthem of the Seas. This is the 3rd itinerary change for the cruise ship in the past several weeks due to weather.
Anthem of the Seas was scheduled for a three night cruise out of Bayonne, New Jersey with a stop in Nova Scotia. However, due to a storm in the Atlantic Ocean, the ship will now stay at sea for the entire cruise. The ship headed south after leaving port on Friday and is currently off the coast of Delaware. Passengers on board Anthem of the Seas posted videos on social media sites showing the calm seas that the ship was sailing in.
Earlier this week, the ship returned to Bayonne two days early as the cruise line is staying proactive to keep their ships out of storms. This is part of a new policy by Royal Caribbean that will help the cruise line to avoid storms with improved guidance. Royal Caribbean has also added resources at the their Miami headquarters that will help provide additional guidance to the captains of their ships.
The change was made when Anthem of the Seas made national news after the ship was caught in hurricane force winds in early February.
Below are some photos and a video that passengers on Anthem of the Seas have posted to social media sites.
