Royal Caribbean Group announced the extra month of cancelations this afternoon. The cancelations are for all three of their cruise lines including Azamara.
The cruise line posted the following update on their corporate website about the new canceled cruises:
“Our primary goal continues to be a healthy return to service for our guests, crew and the communities we visit. As we work with the CDC and others toward this shared goal, Royal Caribbean Group will be extending the suspension of sailings to include those departing on or before November 30, 2020, excluding sailings from Hong Kong.
Celebrity Cruises will also be suspending their full 2020/21 Winter program in Australia and Asia. Additionally, Azamara will be suspending their 2020/21 Winter sailings throughout Australia & New Zealand, South Africa and South America.”
Royal Caribbean said each day that passes, they are one step closer to the other side of this operational pause and their continued work with notable health organizations and government authorities will ensure their readiness to resume, placing health and safety at the forefront.
This additional time will allow the cruise line to continue to steadily make progress through all facets of the guest experience as they not only reinforce current standards, but also set new ones at every turn.
