Want to stream Netflix on your next Carnival cruise? Carnival Cruise Line has enabled the ability to steam Netflix to a third cruise ship.
The Carnival cruise ships that now support Netflix streaming are Carnival Vista, Carnival Horizon, and Carnival Sunrise. Carnival Sunrise (formerly known as Carnival Triumph) emerged from dry dock this past weekend and will sail her first cruise with a new name and $200 million worth of upgrades next Monday from Norfolk.
In order for the ability to stream Netflix on these three cruise ships, you will be required to purchase the Premium WiFi Plan. The plan costs $17 per day if you purchase it for the entire cruise. If you purchase the plan prior to your cruise, the price drops to $14.45 per day. You can also purchase a 24 hour plan for $25.00.
Carnival Cruise Line’s Premium Wi-Fi plan provides you access to all sites under the Social and Value Plans at the fastest possible connection on board (3 times faster than the Value Plan).
The Premium Plan also supports Skype calling where coverage allows. Does not support access to video and music streaming (such as Netflix*, Hulu, Spotify, Pandora). Cellular-network-dependent Wi-Fi calling and Facetime services are also not supported.
*Netflix streaming is enabled for the three cruise ships listed above.
Carnival Cruise Line also offers a Social WiFi Plan and Value WiFi Plan. The Social Plan is the cheapest option and only allows access to social media apps. The Value Plan allows regular web browsing at slower speeds than the Premium Plan.
Guests can upgrade from one plan to another and can use multiple devices per plan, including their smart phone, laptop or shipboard Internet cafe but only one device can be used at a time.
