Steel drums are back! Carnival Cruise Line is bringing back live Caribbean music to the lido deck on most of their cruise ships says Senior Cruise Director John Heald.
This will be welcome news to many cruisers who enjoy listening to live Caribbean music while cruising to the Caribbean. The change comes after Heald posted a poll on Facebook asking Carnival fans what type of music they preferred on the Lido. DJs spinning beats replaced the live bands several years ago.
When will the change take place? Passengers on the following ships can now enjoy live Caribbean music to the Lido:
- Carnival Breeze
- Carnival Conquest
- Carnival Ecstasy
- Carnival Pride
Carnival Liberty will be added in August and Carnival Dream in September. Most of Carnival’s Funships will have Caribbean duos playing music on the Lido by early 2016. Hats off to Carnival Cruise Line for listening to their VIFP Club members and making this change.
So glad to hear this!! I have really missed the steel drum music and the feeling that you are actually on vacation.
Thanks for listening to your loyal customers.
Thanks for listening Carnival. Was always a nice touch, will be looking forward to enjoying this again 🙂
I hope you have a little bit of both. Love caribbean music. As well as the DJ.
Thank God. The DJ’s were terrible and very rarely played calypso or caribbean themed music.
THANK YOU! Now we won’t have to keep asking the “DJ” to play Caribbean music ; )
Would love to see this on the Magic for New Years Eve!
Great idea! Long overdue!
