Have you ever missed a port or had an itinerary change on one of your cruises? You can now get paid if either of these things happen to you if you have cruise insurance coverage through Squaremouth.
Squaremouth has launched a new Tin Leg Cruise policy that is specifically designed for those who are taking a cruise. How does this differ from traditional travel insurance?
In addition to standard travel insurance, Tin Leg Cruise offers four specific cruise benefits that you won’t find with normal travel insurance companies. They are:
- Itinerary Change: $250 per person in the event of a schedule change
- Missed Port of Call: $500 per person after a 3-hour delay at a port
- Travel Inconvenience Coverage: $100 per person for situations like flight delays, being confined on a cruise ship, missed connections, and missed ports of call
- Water Level Disruptions: Coverage for a cruise line’s cancellation due to water level issues that could impact the scheduled itinerary, perfect for river cruises
These benefits are in addition to trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical coverage, medical evacuation, pre-existing conditions, travel delay coverage, missed connection, baggage loss, baggage delay, pet kennel delay, and 24-hour accidental death & dismemberment.
The policy also allows you to upgrade coverage if you want higher insurance amounts.
Tin Leg Cruise is available to all U.S. residents except for those who live in New York. It is good on all cruise lines and covers up to $30,000 per person. It must be purchased at least five days before your cruise and can be purchased 1 1/2 years before your sailing.
Squaremouth estimates that 74% of cruisers will travel with insurance this year, up from 38% last year.
