Late last week, Carnival Cruise Line joined other cruise lines in sending cruise ships to St. Vincent to help with evacuations of local residents who are were under a threat from volcano La Soufriere.
Carnival Cruise Line issued an update today saying that government officials in St. Vincent have advised the cruise line there is now no immediate need for an evacuation of local residents.
In consultation with the government, Carnival Cruise Line will be moving Carnival Legend and Carnival Paradise from the area.
However, Carnival will be standing ready to assist with evacuations if the circumstances change.
Carnival Cruise Line is asking their employees, guests and partners to continue to keep St. Vincent in their thoughts.
