The sea trials consisted of a set of test and maneuvers to make sure the ship was safe once passengers are on board. The ship sailed under it’s own power in the Adriatic Sea and passed with flying colors.
The Breeze will be the largest cruise ship in Carnival’s fleet when she sets sail on June 3, 2012. The 130,000 ton ship, which is a sister ship to the Carnival Magic, will carry nearly 3,700 passengers and is expected to cost Carnival $740 million.
The ship will have an expansive sports complex called SportSquare and an aqua park called WaterWorks. The water park area is reported to have several water slides.
The ship will be delivered from the shipyard to Carnival once all the interior work has been completed.
The Breeze will begin sailing out of Barcelona, Spain and sail 12 night Mediterranean cruises to ports in Italy, France, Monaco, Spain, Turkey and Croatia. In late October, the vessel will cross the Atlantic for 6 and 8 night cruises to the Caribbean out of Miami stopping in the ports of Nassau, St Thomas, Grand Turk, Jamaica, Antigua, Aruba, St Maarten, and the Dominican Republic.
