On June 25, the Miami Heat victory parade will take place throughout downtown Miami and at American Airlines Arena. Since the cruise port is adjacent to the arena, extremely heavy traffic is expected as many roads will be closed for the parade.
Royal Caribbean has released a statement saying that the 4:30 p.m. departure of the Majesty of the Seas will not be delayed due to traffic. Passengers are required to be checked in and onboard the ship at least 60 minutes before departure.
Norwegian has also made a similiar statement regarding the Norwegian Sky’s 5:00 p.m. departure. NCL stated that they expect traffic delays to start as early as 9:30 a.m. and the ship will leave port at 5:00 p.m. and will also not be delayed due to traffic.
The Norwegian Sky, Majesty of the Seas, Carnival Imagination, and the Carnival Destiny are scheduled to sail out of the Port of Miami on Monday.
Any passengers that are booked on one of these sailings should give themselves extra time to arrive at the port.
The parade is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. at the corner of SW 8th St and 2nd Ave, head east on 8th Street and then north on Brickell Avenue. The parade will continue across the bridge and north on Biscayne Boulevard and end at American Airlines Arena at 12:30 p.m. Visit the Miami Herald for more information on the parade.
