Two cruise ships are currently operating a search and rescue for a crew member who went overboard earlier this morning when the cruise ship was sailing near St. Thomas.
The unidentified crew member went overboard from MSC Seaside and the cruise ship is currently being assisted by the U.S. Coast Guard. Carnival Cruise Line (Carnival Glory) also has a cruise ship in the area and is aiding in the search for the him.
It is unknown at this time why the crew member went overboard. The rescue effort has been hampered by rough water and 30 mph winds.
Several updates were posted online about the search and rescue efforts.
So we are supposed to be in Puerto Rico but a crew member went missing last night so we are patrolling the ocean to fine him or her. ? #mscseaside
