Carnival Cruise Line has changed a Caribbean cruise to a cruise to the Bahamas due to an issue with a cruise ship’s maximum cruising speed.
Carnival Victory was scheduled for a four night cruise to the Western Caribbean this week but instead of calling on Cozumel and Key West, the ship will now visit Nassau and Princess Cays. Carnival Cruise Line sent out a letter to passengers on the ship notifying them of the change in itinerary.
The letter stated that the reason for the change in itinerary was due to an issue with the ship’s maximum cruising speed. Technicians are doing the necessary work while the ship sails to the Bahamas.
Due to the change in ports, Carnival Cruise Line is giving all passengers a $50 per person credit to their Sign and Sail account. Those who pre-purchased shore excursions in Key West and Cozumel will receive a full refund.
Carnival also gave passengers the option to cancel their cruise and receive a full refund if they were not satisfied with the new itinerary.
The new itinerary for Carnival Victory is now as follows:
- Miami
- Nassau, Bahamas
- Princess Cays, Bahamas
- Sea Day
- Miami
Carnival Victory is scheduled to have a major overhaul next year and the ship will be renamed as Carnival Radiance.
