10 Cruises Everyone Should Go On When Cruise Lines Start Back Up

Cruise ships can take you to some of the most incredible destinations in the world. From the blue waters of the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, to the glaciers of Alaska, there’s a cruise for everyone,

With all cruises around the world temporarily shutdown, we miss cruising as much as anyone.  Here are 10 cruises you should considering taking once cruises resume.

The Caribbean – The most popular cruise destination in the world, the clear, blue waters of the Caribbean offer everything from sun-kissed beaches to world class shopping. While the most popular itineraries sail to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, there are also more port intensive cruises to the Southern Caribbean. Whichever option you choose, a cruise to the Caribbean should be on everyone’s bucket list.  View Cruise Deals to the Caribbean

Christmas Markets – A cruise to the Christmas markets through Europe will no doubtingly put you into the Christmas spirit.  I had the opportunity to take a Viking River Cruise from Budapest to Nuremberg and it quickly become one of my favorite cruises I have ever taken in my life.  Each Christmas market had it’s own unique charm but each one was equally magical.  From the freshly cooked sausages to the unique handmade Christmas ornaments you could purchase, it’s a cruise that everyone should experience.

Which Christmas markets were my favorite to visit? The market at Thurn and Taxis Castle in Regensburg was like stepping back in time hundreds of years as the market not only filled the courtyard of the castle, but also surrounded it. The market in Nuremberg was the largest we visited that had everything from live carolers to the famous World of Prune Men, well loved figures made of prune.  In Passau, the market outside of St. Stephen’s Cathedral had a charm of it’s own.

Transatlantic – Love sea days? Then a Transatlantic cruise is right up your alley as a crossing of the Atlantic Ocean will take at least a week.  This is the perfect cruise to really kick back and relax and enjoy sea day after sea day.

Hawaii – Let’s be honest, who in their life hasn’t dreamed of visiting Hawaii? This tropical paradise and the green volcanic cliffs offer an experience unlike any other.  Only one cruise cruise (Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America) sails year round, seven night cruises to the Hawaiian Islands. Mediterranean – From the Greek Isles to the French Riviera, a cruise around the Mediterranean offers an experience of its own.  Visit Rome, Barcelona, Monaco, Athens, and Venice on a cruise that every world traveler dreams of.

South Pacific – A cruise to Bora Bora, an island in the French Polynesia, has been named “the best island in the world” by U.S. News. With a dormant volcano rising above the island, the coral reef offers incredible snorkeling and scuba diving in the clear, turquoise water.  View Cruise Deals to Bora Bora

Alaska – If you love nature and the beauty of God’s creation, the 49th state offers breathtaking views as you sail by glaciers and snow capped mountains. Cruises to Alaska take place between May and September and all major cruise lines sail there. The fresh seafood is to die for and the seaplane excursions offer the most incredible views of the fjords and glaciers. However, you’ll now have to wait until 2021 to cruise to Alaska.

Fjords of Norway – One of the most beautiful cruises I have ever taken, a cruise through the fjords of Norway offers some of the most incredible scenery on earth. You’ll be hard pressed to find a more amazing place on the planet than Geiranger.  I highly recommend the 14 day cruise offered by Viking.  As bonus, cruise during the Midnight Sun and experience 24 hour sunlight.

Galapagos – The Galapagos Islands are one of the best places on earth for viewing wildlife.  Several cruise lines including Celebrity Cruises and SilverSea Cruises have recently built new cruise ships made specifically for this region. The islands are located in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Ecuador.

Antarctica – For the true adventurer, The Last Continent is the ultimate place for those who want to experience a land unlike any other. Expedition cruises are gaining in popularity and Viking is debuting a new cruise line in 2022 with custom made Polar Class 6 ships.
