Yesterday, the adults only cruise line announced that they have canceled all cruises out of Miami on the cruise ship through the middle of September.
Starting in August, Scarlet Lady will sail three and four night staycation cruises around the southern coast of England. The ship will depart on Mondays (4 night cruises) and Fridays (3 night cruises) and stay out at sea for the duration of the sailing.
Cruisers can book back to back sailings for a full week at sea on Virgin’s first ship. These new sailings open for bookings on April 13.
Since the cruise line can’t sail out of PortMiami yet, they are taking this opportunity to do a homecoming tour to where the Virgin brand got its start.
With the cruise line’s Voyage Well initiative — which includes, but is not limited to, enhanced cleanings, contactless experiences, a new air purification system, reduced capacity, and frequent testing and vaccine requirements — they are making sailing safely is their top priority.
Based on their own assessments, the UK has determined that its citizens can safely sail this summer.
So at this time, only residents of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland will be sailing on the Summer Soirée Series — with Sailors aged 18+ vaccinated against COVID-19. Additional testing and protocols will be confirmed closer to sailing — all in line with the most up to date recommendations from the UK government.
