Royal Caribbean has canceled two cruises on Ovation of the Seas so the cruise ship can go into dry dock for repairs.
The two four night sailings out of Tianjin were canceled to fix a propulsion issue with the cruise ship. Royal Caribbean said that the issue was necessary but not urgent. The cruise line decided that the best course of action would be to fix the issue right away.
The April 26 and April 30 cruises were the two sailings affected by the unscheduled dry dock. After completed the necessary repairs, Ovation of the Seas will head out on a six night cruise to Japan from Tianjin.
Ovation of the Seas is the 3rd Quantum class ship from Royal Caribbean and can carry 4,180 passengers. The 168,666 gross ton ship debuted in April 2016 and has all of the groundbreaking features that Quantum of the Seas brought to the cruise industry including a skydiving simulator, the North Star, robotic bartenders, the versatile Seaplex, and virtual balconies on all inside staterooms.
