Video: Building Mega Cruise Ships, Block By Block – Anthem of the Seas

Royal Caribbean has released a video showing how their two newest cruise ships, the Quantum and Anthem of the Seas, were being built, side by side in the shipyard.

Meyer Werft has two building halls but only one of them is large enough to hold the mega giant cruise ships.  How can the shipyard build 2 Quantum Class ships to be delivered within 6 months of each other?

The Anthem of the Seas was built in 4 separate giga blocks while the Quantum of the Seas was being completed.  These blocks are 70-80 meters long, fully equipped and fully floating.

Now that the Quantum of the Seas is out of the shipyard, these 4 giga blocks will be joined together with the bow and the stern to become the Anthem of the Seas. Watch the video below to see how this amazing feat of engineering comes together to create a cruise ship.
