Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas returned to port last night after an 8 year old boy was found in one of the cruise ship’s swimming pools.
Fox News is reporting that the boy was found unconscious in a swimming pool at approximately 8 p.m. last night. The medical staff on board performed CPR on the boy and the child is currently in critical condition. The ship was approximately 10 miles off shore when the incident happened.
Local law enforcement told WABC-TV that the boy was with a group of 45 passengers from the Netherlands. He was airlifted to Staten Island University Hospital North by the NYPD’s Aviation Unit.
Anthem of the Seas departed from Bayonne, New Jersey yesterday evening for a nine night cruise to Bermuda and the Caribbean.
