Virgin’s first cruise ship, Scarlet Lady, is set to debut in 2020 and homeport in the Cruise Capital of the World, PortMiami. Those who placed a deposit earlier this year will have the first dibs at staterooms on voyages.
Virgin Voyages dates for booking a cruise on Scarlet Lady are as follows:
- February 5, 2019 – Pre-sale begins for deposits holders
- February 14, 2019 – Bookings open to the general public
While exact itineraries have yet to be released by Virgin Voyages, we do know that the cruise line will sail to the Caribbean from Miami. Select itineraries will have an overnight stay in Havana, Cuba.
The cruise line is building a brand new state-of-the-art terminal in Miami that will serve as the homeport for their first two cruise ships.
Virgin Voyages promises to be unlike any other cruise line at sea. In fact, they have stated that they are gearing the line to those who haven’t yet wanted to take a cruise. Virgin has been slowly releasing information about their first cruise ship and here is what we know so far.
The cruise line will be for adults only, no sailors (what guests will be called onboard) under the age of 18 will be allowed to sail.
There won’t be a main dining room or buffet onboard the ship. Scarlet Lady will have a range of specialty restaurants onboard that will all be included in cruise fares. You can read more on the options here.
Scarlet Lady will also have a cruise industry first, a tattoo parlor.
Cruise Fever will have all details about the most anticipated new cruise line in years when they are released by Virgin Voyages.
