New Cruise Line Ditching Main Dining Room & Buffets, All Dining Venues Will Be Complimentary

Virgin Voyages promised to be unlike any other cruise line.  The new cruise line continues to deliver on that promise as their first adults only cruise ship, Scarlet Lady, will not have a main dining room or buffet.

There will be 20 different dining options on Scarlet Lady, and each one will come at no extra charge.  From a steakhouse to Korean BBQ, here is a look at a few of the restaurants that will be offered on Virgin’s first cruise ship when she begins sailing to the Caribbean out of Miami in 2020.

Wake – Glamour is on the horizon at the aft of the ship.  Designed by Roman and Williams, Wake offers sailors a dramatic view of the ship’s wake while serving a sophisticated take on steak and seafood as well as a Sommerlier led Magnum menu.

Razzle Dazzle – Designed by Concrete Amsterdam, Razzle Dazzle is the place where your vegan friend, your carnivorous friend, your vegetarian friend, and your friend who hasn’t bought groceries in a two years can all enjoy their favorite dish.  Feeling a little cheeky? Head over to the Red Bar for a few extra surprises.

Test Kitchen – In this lab-like restaurant designed by Concrete Amsterdam, chefs will have carte blanche. They’ve hand-picked all of the ingredients and written them down on your menu.  As for how those ingredients will come together, you won’t know unless you dare to dine here.

Geonbae – In Geonbae, you’ll enjoy the best Korean BBQ on the seven seas with the first round top-shelf soju shots on the house.

Pink Agave – Tom Dixon didn’t hold back when designing this upscale and refined Mexican restaurant. Fueled by the power of simple and fresh ingredients coming together for an explosion of flavor.

The Galley – Feeling a bit peckish? The Galley, a made to order food market with options galore, is Virgin’s newest answer to sailors’ concerns over wasting food.  Instead of buffets, you have a variety of options for whatever meal or craving you’re feeling at the moment. From early breakfast to late night munchies, relax in one of the top communal spaces on board while you enjoy beautiful views and even better food.

The Pizza Place – The perfect spot for people watching and made to order pizza. At the Pizza Place, you have complete control over your pie, from dough to the cheese, a little cracked pepper, a little ricotta, and any other topping you want.  Watch it come to life right before your very eyes.

Extra Virgin – Very few things in the world rival an exquisite dish cooked with a mother’s touch. For Extra Virgin, the pasta-focused eatery deeply rooted in Italian traditions, Virgin felt the same goes for your surroundings. With communal tables and a private dining room inspired  by a “mobster’s lair”, this is the perfect space to enjoy top-tier dining that feels like a home-cooked meal.

Virgin Voyages is launching four adults only cruise ships with the first scheduled to debut in 2020. The first ship, Scarlet Lady, will sail to the Caribbean from Miami.  While exact itineraries have yet to be announced, Virgin has stated that select cruises will overnight in Havana, Cuba.

Cruise Fever will have more details about Scarlet Lady as they are announced by the cruise line.
