Updated Carnival Cruise Line’s Ship Dry Dock Schedule and Upgrades

Every three to five years, Carnival Cruise Line’s cruise ships go into dry dock for not only routine maintenance, and also to have new features and upgrades added to the ships.

When cruise ships go into dry dock, they receive routine hotel maintenance (new beds etc) and cosmetic upgrades in public areas that include lighting, new carpet, tile work, and wall coverings.  Lately, Carnival has also been adding new restaurants (Bonsai Sushi etc), water slides, new staterooms, and new retail shops.  Also, the dry dock gives cruise lines time to work on parts of the ships that are under the water line (azipods, propellers etc).

Since many cruisers enjoy cruising on ships that have recently been updated, here is Carnival Cruise Line’s updated schedule for dry dock upgrades for their cruise ships over the next few years.  This list was updated on November 22, 2019 with information directly from Carnival Cruise Line.

  1. what kind of upgrades if any is the carnival miracle getting when it is in dry dock next month just wondering sailing on it in April 2020 carole poch

    • Cruise Lines build and refurbish their ships outside the US because they are all registered in foreign countries. US ship regulations would be very costly to the cruise lines.

  2. whats the triumph getting ? being in dry dock for 2 months-will after its all done -will it be going back to nyc?

  3. Glad the Pride is getting an update the cabins for sure needs new furniture and decor. My last cruise June 17-24 cabin 4121 had torn drapery liners torn couch and drawers that didn’t close. Hope they update the cabins for sure!
