Royal Caribbean has announced an itinerary change to one of their cruises due to a newly formed hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean.
Hurricane Irma is currently a Category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph. The storm is predicted to grow in strength and Royal Caribbean posted the following message informing cruisers of the itinerary change:
For those sailing on Allure of the Seas on 9/3: Hurricane Irma has recently developed in the Caribbean and is tracking west as a Category 2 hurricane. Given the storm’s location and for everyone’s comfort and safety, it is necessary to alter our Eastern Caribbean itinerary to a Western Caribbean one. We know this change may be disappointing, and we are truly sorry. Pre-booked shore excursions will be refunded to your original form of payment while onboard, and more detailed information can be found on royalcaribbean.com. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call 1-800-256-6649. We will update you again at 1 pm tomorrow. Please note that no other itineraries are impacted at this time.
At time of press, no other cruise lines have made changes due to this newly formed hurricane. Cruise Fever will have all update if and when other cruise lines make changes due to Hurricane Irma.

RCCL just changed my Oasis itinerary from St. Maarten and San Juan TO: Nassau, Bahamas and Falmouth, Jamaica. Thought they were substituting St. Kitts for St. Maarten – very disappointed. Jamaica we are repeater guests already in Jamaica. V-e-r-y d-i-s-a-p-p-o-i-n-t-e-d to say the least.
