Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that prices for gratuities are being raised onboard their cruise ships effective April 1, 2018.
The cruise line sent the following message to travel agents today informing them of the upcoming price increase:
Norwegian Cruise Line is making a nominal adjustment to its daily service charges, effective April 1, 2018. Norwegian’s discretionary daily service charges make it easy for guests to provide gratuities to the onboard staff dedicated to delivering superior guest service throughout the cruise.
The new daily rates are as follows:
- Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun all-inclusive Suites – from $21.99 to $22.99
- Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun all-inclusive, all other metas – from $18.99 to $19.99
- Remainder of cruise ships, Suites and The Haven – from $16.99 to $17.50
- Remainder of cruise ships, all other metas – from $13.99 to $14.50
Any guest that has made a booking by March 31, 2018 will have the option of prepaying their service charges at the current rate if done prior to sail date. Guests with existing cruise reservations who have already prepaid their service charges at the current rate are not affected.
This is the first increase in daily gratuities by Norwegian Cruise Line since last spring.
The daily gratuities are split between cabin stewards, dining attendants, and crew members that work behind the scenes to make your cruise as memorable as possible.
