Royal Caribbean’s fifth Oasis class cruise ship, Wonder of the Seas, is headed to Asia. The cruise line announced the name of the ship at a ceremony earlier today at the shipyard.
Wonder of the Seas will be the largest cruise ship in the world when she enters service in 2021. The ship is currently under construction at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France.
The ship will be the third from Royal Caribbean to be built specifically for the Chinese cruise market. The first two were Ovation of the Seas and Spectrum of the Seas, both Quantum class ships. However, Ovation of the Seas is no longer based in China.
This will also mark the first time that an Oasis class ship will offer cruises in Asia. The four current ships (Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and Symphony of the Seas) have all been based out of Florida and sailed to the Caribbean. A few have also sailed brief stints in Europe.
Wonder of the Seas will combine the iconic seven-neighborhood concept that her sister ships feature along with a bold lineup of thrilling experiences, imaginative dining, unparalleled entertainment and the latest technology. More information on Wonder’s itineraries and brand-new adventures will be announced soon.
