Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line have canceled four cruises out of Miami due to the project path of Hurricane Irma. Hurricane Irma is currently a Category 5 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 185 mph.
The four cruises that have been canceled are:
- Enchantment of the Seas: September 8 Bahamas cruise
- Majesty of the Seas: September 8 Bahamas cruise
- Norwegian Sky: September 8 Bahamas cruise
- Norwegian Escape: September 9 Caribbean cruise
Royal Caribbean posted the following message in regards to the canceled cruises:
“We are very sorry for the impact this storm has had on your vacation and please know that we made the decision with the safety and comfort of our guests and crew in mind. The cruise fare and fees will be 100% refunded to the original form of payment, and we are also offering a 25% future cruise credit, based on the cruise fare, if a new cruise is booked in the next 30 days. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call 1-800-256-6649.”
Norwegian Cruise Line is giving guests who were booked on the canceled sailings a full refund and a 50% future cruise credit.
These are the first four cruise cancelations due to Hurricane Irma.

We are set to sail out of Miami on Monday, Sept 11, 2017. When will hear if that trip is cancelled. I cant believe that the cruise line will not refunding us our money. its a Hurricane and is being said to be the worst!
Where did you get this information from for Norwegian? I called Norwegian and they said nothing has been cancelled yet. Thanks for the heads up though!
