A cruise line has sent out letters with modified itineraries to passengers who have cruises booked on one of their cruise ships.
Royal Caribbean has modified the itineraries for cruises on Allure of the Seas due to a technical problem RoyalCaribbeanBlog.com is reporting. Cruise Critic has the total number of itineraries changed at 25.
The cruises are being altered due to a technical matter with one of the ship’s three azipods. The ship will need to sail at a reduced speed so port stops have been slightly altered.
Allure of the Seas sails three different itineraries over the next five months. While some itineraries will only have port times adjusted, others are replacing a stop in St. Thomas for a visit to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Any shore excursions that were booked through Royal Caribbean for port stops that have been switched will be automatically refunded.

Allure of the Seas will relocate to Ft. Lauderdale on May 5 and begin sailing week long cruises to the Caribbean. The ship has spent the past 6 months sailing out of Miami.
I just spoke with my agent, along with an RC representative, and RC has NO plans to offer customers any partial refunds, onboard credits, or monetary concessions. I know, first-hand, that San Juan, Peurto Rico is an awful port and compares nothing to St. Thomas (USVI). This is laughable…but par for the course.
You obviously don’t read your contract very well. Itineraries are allowed to be changed/altered without any “refunds” or “full credits for future cruises.” Changes occur.
Didn’t read anything about RCI refunding cruise fares or issuing full credits for future cruises due to these changes in itinerary.
Interesting.
