At least one cruise line has altered cruise itineraries due to Tropical Storm Cindy in the Gulf of Mexico.
Tropical Storm Cindy currently has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and is not expected to become a hurricane. The storm is currently moving at 10 mph NW and is expected to make landfall later this week between Texas and Louisiana.
Carnival Cruise Line has made two changes to cruise itineraries in the Western Caribbean. Both ships will visit the same ports as originally scheduled but on different days. Carnival Triumph will sail a reverse itinerary and will now visit Progreso today and Cozumel tomorrow. Carnival Valor stopped in Progreso yesterday and today is in Cozumel.
What Happens if There is a Tropical Storm or Hurricane During Your Cruise
Right now, it appears that no other cruise ships will be affected by Tropical Storm Cindy. If any other itineraries are altered, this page will be updated with the latest information.
There is another tropical storm (Tropical Storm Bret) in the Southern Caribbean, just off the coast of South America. Right now, no cruises have been affected.
Tropical Storm Bret is projected to move over the southern Caribbean towards Central America and away from most cruise ports.
