Two cruise lines, Carnival Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises, are raising fees on everything from gratuities, beverage packages, and special meals during the first week of 2020.
To keep our readers informed on the latest price increases, here are the fees on cruises that are going up this week.
Celebrity Cruises is raising their daily gratuities by $1 per person, per day. The cruise line’s new gratuity rates go into effect on January 6, 2020 and will be as follows:
- $15.50 per person, per day in standard accomodations
- $16.00 per person, per day for Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms
- $19.00 per person, per day for suites
This gratuity is shared by your stateroom attendant, dining services staff, and housekeeping staff members who help enhance your vacation experience. At your discretion, the gratuity payments may be adjusted onboard at Guest Relations, in which case they will not automatically be added to your onboard SeaPass account. A 20% gratuity will be automatically added to all beverages, mini bar purchases, spa and salon services. Additional gratuities may be added at your discretion.
Carnival Cruise Line has raised fees on two optional extras, Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast and their CHEERS! beverage package. The price changes went into effect on January 1, 2020.
The Dr. Seuss themed Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast will now cost $6 per person, up from $5.
The price of the CHEERS! beverage package which allows cruisers 15 alcoholic drinks per day and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks is going up on three and four day cruises.
The price for the CHEERS! beverage package program for three and four day cruises has increased by $3 per day to $54.95 per day plus gratuity if purchased pre-cruise and $59.95 per day plus gratuity if purchased on board.
The price for CHEERS! on cruises five nights and longer will remain at $51.95 per day if purchased pre-cruise and $56.95 per day if purchased onboard your cruise ship.
