Carnival Cruise Line has postponed the dry dock scheduled for one of their cruise ships until sometime in 2026.
Carnival Magic’s dry dock was originally scheduled to take place from October 6, 2025 through November 20, 2025.
The cruise line has now postponed the dry dock until a to be determined date in 2026. Carnival updated the maintenance schedule for the ship in the past 24 hours and it now reads: 2026 TBD.
However, after looking at cruises open for bookings in 2026, Carnival no longer has cruises open for bookings on Carnival Magic from April 18, 2026 through May 30, 2026. It is important to note that Carnival Cruise Line has not yet confirmed if this will be the dry dock date.
This will be the third dry dock for the ship since it debuted in 2011. You can see a complete list of Carnival’s dry dock schedule here through 2027.
Cruise ships go into dry dock every three or five years, depending on the age of the vessel. During this time, routine maintenance takes place and cruise lines use this time to update and add new features to the ships.

Carnival Magic’s first dry dock took place in February/March 2016 and the second in May 2021. A dry dock in 2026 will be five years from the previous one and keeps it right on schedule.
During the cruise ship’s previous dry dock in 2021, routine hotel maintenance and cosmetic enhancements were done to the ship. In addition, the ship received Carnival’s new signature red, white and blue livery and a non-smoking casino was added where the conference room was located.
Carnival Magic is a Dream class ship that debuted in 2011. It can carry 3,690 guests in 1,845 cabins, based on double occupancy. Maximum capacity for the ship is 4,724 guests.
