Several people posted photos and videos on Twitter showing the ships colliding and the damage done to the aft section of Carnival Glory.
The cruise ships that collided were Carnival Legend and Carnival Glory. High winds appear to be the cause of the collision. The incident happened at approximately 8:45 am this morning.
Extent of the damage to both vessels is not known at this time. The photos show the damage well above the waterline. Carnival Cruise Line stated that the damage to both ships does not impact the seaworthiness of either vessel.
The video below shows the two ships colliding and a close up of the damage as Carnival Glory sails past Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas.
There has been one minor injury reported on Carnival Glory that occurred when a group of guests were evacuated from the dining room on Decks 3 and 4.

That had to hurt. Carnival Glory just hit the pier in Cozumel. Has a rather nasty bruise on it’s butt. Is sailing away at the moment. Damage was way above water line.

Carnival Glory is currently on a seven night cruise to the Western Caribbean out of New Orleans. Carnival Legend is sailing a seven night cruise to the Western Caribbean from Tampa.
Cruise Fever will have more information on this breaking story as it becomes becomes available.
This is what happens when amateur captains are in charge of a cruise ship. Hopefully the cruise lines will stop hiring Captains who took on-line courses in seamanship.
You can just rub that out. No worries.
