Carnival Cancels Cruises Due to Ship’s Rescheduled Dry Dock

Carnival Cruise Line has canceled several cruises on one of their cruise ships due to the vessel’s dry dock being rescheduled.

Carnival Cruise Line has canceled all cruises on Carnival Magic from April 18, 2026 through the May 24, 2026 sailing.

Carnival sent a letter to guests who were booked on one of these cruises informing them of the cancelations and to offer them compensation.

Cruisers who were booked on one of the canceled sailings have two options.

The first is a $50 per person ($100 stateroom maximum) on board credit if they rebook on another Carnival ship. Their cruise fare will also be protected to be used on a comparable sailing, in a similar cabin.

The second option is for those who do not want to reschedule their canceled cruise. They will receive a full refund of their cruise fare and a refund for any pre-purchased items. The refund will be credited to their original form of payment after May 1, 2025. Carnival said the refund could take up to three weeks to process.

The letter, from Colleen Oliverio, VP of Guest Services for Carnival, apologized for the cancelations and said:

“We have a variety of alternatives and are confident you will find another Carnival cruise that is filled with an equal amount of fun. Our team is ready to discuss options and rebook you on another voyage right away.

“We sincerely apologize for this change and thank you for your understanding. We look forward to having you sail with us.”

Carnival Magic was originally scheduled to go into dry dock this fall but Carnival decided to push it back until next spring, resulting in the cancelation of several cruises.

Carnival Magic will re-enter service after the dry dock on May 30, 2026. This eight-night cruise to the Southern Caribbean departs from Miami and will visit Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. It will also have four sea days.
