Holland America Line’s Heritage Tours Showcase the Best of Alaska

Holland America Line will celebrate 80 years of sailing to Alaska in 2027, and the cruise line has unveiled Alaska Heritage Tours that highlight iconic experiences offered on shore excursions.

Many tours offered by Holland America Line trace back 80 years. This gives travelers the opportunity to experience many of the same places and traditions from generations ago.

There are more than 35 Alaska Heritage Tours offered by Holland America Line that visit Alaska’s railways, glaciers, wildlife, wilderness, and national parks, reflecting the landscapes and adventures.

Each one offers an authentic connection to Alaska’s history, culture, and communities.

Featured Alaska Heritage Tours include:

• McKinley Explorer Railroad
• White Pass Summit Scenic Railroad
• Mendenhall Glacier Explorer
• Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise
• Denali Tundra Wilderness Tour

In total, Holland America Line offers more than 200 shore excursions in Alaska. From whale watching to bear viewing to wilderness adventures, they offer a little something for everyone.

The cruise line offers glacier viewing experiences at Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier, Dawes Glacier, Tracy Arm and College Fjord.

Carole Biencourt, vice president, onboard revenue, Holland America Line, said the following:

“One of the most remarkable things about Alaska is that many of the experiences travelers seek out today are the very same ones that first inspired visitors decades ago. As we approach our 80th season in the region, we’re proud that the experiences featured in our Alaska Heritage Tours collection have been part of the Holland America Line journey since our earliest explorations of Alaska in the 1940s.

“While these tours have evolved over the years, they continue to offer guests an authentic connection to Alaska’s landscapes, wildlife, and communities, which is what has made them enduring favorites for so long.”

Holland America Line’s Alaska Heritage Tours for 2027 are now available to book on select cruises to Alaska and Cruisetours.
