A small fire broke out in one of the engine rooms on Royal Caribbean’s Splendour of the Seas earlier this morning.
The fire was contained and extinguished, 19 crew members and one passenger were treated for smoke inhalation. All but one crew member have now been released. All onboard systems are functioning as normal. Royal Caribbean confirmed details of the fire on their corporate Twitter account early Thursday morning. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.

The ship will bypass the last port call in Argostoli, Greece, and sail back to Venice. Previous port stops on the cruise included Kotor, Corfu, Piraeus (Athens), and Mykonos.
