The 20 year old male passenger from North Carolina had entered into a restricted area, climbed the forward mast, and then fell 30 feet onto the deck below.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital and his identity has not yet been identified.

Police said that there was no foul play involved and do not know why the passenger entered into the restricted area.  An investigation is underway by the Miami Police.

Carnival released a statement staying that the Ecstasy is still on schedule to leave the Port of Miami on Monday afternoon for a 4 night cruise to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico.

Cruise Fever will have more information as it becomes available.
