The first Boomerango water slide at sea will be added to Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas reports cruise blog RoyalCaribbeanblog.com.
A total of three waterslides will be added to Liberty of the Seas when the ship goes into drydock after the first of the year.  Liberty of the Seas will be the first Royal Caribbean cruise ship to feature waterslides.  Adding unique water slides to cruise ships is one of the latest trends among the cruise lines.  The cruise line recently stated that all ships going forward will be built with water slides.

The Boomerango waterslide will be main new feature added to the pool deck of Liberty of the Seas.  The water slide will have passengers sitting in rafts where they will “plummet down a steep drop, then shoot up a nearly vertical wall, high into the air, for a moment of weightlessness”.

Tim Fischer, CEO of Village Road Show, said the following about the Boomerango: “The gold standard for multi-person waterslides.  It offers a truly unique and thrilling experience”.

  1. This waterslide seems very dangerous to me!!! I know that RCL has a lot of accidents on their flow rider ride. I don’t think I will try this!!

  2. That slide seems a bit “overboard” if you know what I mean. If we wanted water slides we’d cruise Carnival.
