Carnival Horizon (aka Vista 2) will be a sister ship to Carnival Vista and is scheduled to debut in March 2018. The 133,500 gross ton ship will carry nearly 4,000 passengers at double occupancy.
Carnival has yet to announce the home port and itineraries for Carnival Horizon. The ship is expected to have many of the same groundbreaking features that Carnival Vista brought to the cruise industry including the Skyride and IMAX theater. You can see many of these features in our photo tour of Carnival Vista.
Other notable features of Carnival Horizon will be a large water park for families, indoor/outdoor seating for many of the dining venues, the RedFrog Pub & Brewery, family staterooms, Seuss at Sea program in partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, and the popular 2.0 Fun Ship upgrades that Carnival is adding to their ships. Carnival Horizon will also have a number of new innovations unique to the ship.
Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, gave the following statement:
“The name Carnival Horizon not only reflects the ship’s unique connection with the sea with so many spectacular indoor and outdoor spaces but also the boundless array of options that guests of all ages are sure to enjoy. And in keeping with our reputation for bringing fun and enjoyment to our guests and fans, we’ve come up with an engaging social media contest encouraging the sharing of your favorite Horizon photos.”
