Carnival Cruise Line has been recognized for environmental excellence in the Maritime Awards of the Americas at a presentation in Miami, Florida.
Carnival Cruise Line earned top honors in the Environmental Waste Management in Cruise Lines category at the 2016 Maritime Awards of the Americas. The honor was presented to Carnival by the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Ports of the Organization of American States (OAS) at the organization’s annual conference in Miami.
The awards utilize a detailed point system to recognize companies from both the public and private sector of North, Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean, that employ environmental practices and procedures that result in measurable outcomes and sustainable impact.
The Maritime Award of the Americas, in its’ third edition, is organized by the Secretariat of the CIP (S/CIP) in collaboration with the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) and other strategic partners, and recognizes successful practices in the maritime and port sector of the Americas that demonstrate excellence, sustainability, as well as innovation and replicability.
