March 17 Update: MSC Seaside will sail year round to the Caribbean out of PortMiami starting in December 2017. The ship will also have the most interactive water park at sea and feature slideboarding (interactive water slide experience).
MSC Cruises has finally released a few details and a video (see below) about two new projects, Vista and Seaside, that will bring seven futuristic cruise ship by 2022. They will also be the largest cruise ships ever built by MSC Cruises. The Vista Project will be four cruise ships that will be completed in 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2022. The ships will be designed for all seasons and will transform communal spaces throughout the year. The spaces will also evolve to suit the itinerary of that particular voyage.
The Vista Project ships will carry up to 5,700 passengers that will have new panoramic spaces. The ships will also have what MSC is calling a “Spectacular amusement park connected to an outdoor aqua park”. The ships will have duplex cabins that come with a private jacuzzi and cluster cabins for families. The enhanced MSC Yacht Club will have a solarium, private lounge, and swimming pool.
The Seaside Project is the highlight of the announcement by MSC. With three cruise ships planned (2017, 2018, and 2021), these futuristic cruise ships will be designed to sail in warm weather and “follow the sun”.
They will hold 5,300 passengers and have over 130,000 square feet of public areas. The Seaside projects ships will have the following amenities:
