Two Cruise Ports Close Due to Hurricane Barry

Hurricane Barry has forced two cruise ports to close today on or near the Gulf of Mexico.

Hurricane Barry currently has maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and is moving north at 5 mph.  The storm is expected to make landfall on Louisiana today and then weaken.

The Port of Mobile and the Port NOLA are currently closed due to weather conditions.  Carnival Fantasy was scheduled to arrive in the Port of Mobile this morning but is currently waiting out at sea. It is unknown at this time when the cruise ship will be able to dock.

No cruise ships are scheduled to arrive in Port NOLA until tomorrow when Carnival Glory is scheduled to return home from a seven day cruise to the Western Caribbean.
