Royal Caribbean will begin to resume cruises this week after one of their cruise ships completed a two night shakedown cruise.
Last week, Cruise Fever reported that Royal Caribbean was scheduled to resume cruises this week out of Singapore. It will be the first cruises from the cruise line since Navigator of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas departed from Florida ports on March 13, 2020.
Quantum of the Seas returned to Singapore today after completing a two night shakedown cruise. Royal Caribbean ran the test cruise before paying passengers begin to board on December 1, 2020.
During the test cruise, Royal Caribbean tested out their new health protocols that will be onboard the cruise ship. Onboard capacity will be limited to 50% so social distancing can take place.
Quantum of the Seas will sail short cruises without any port stops for the next four months out of Singapore.
In addition to paying passengers, various members of the media will also board Royal Caribbean’s first sailing in over eight months.
Royal Caribbean cruises out of U.S. ports have been canceled through December 31, 2020.
