Golfers who love to cruise are going to want to pay attention to eight new sailings just introduced by Azamara Cruises. Some of the most recognized and renowned golf courses in the world (think St Andrews and Torrey Pines) are going to be accessible to cruisers on four Azamara ships.

Through a new partnership, Azamara has partnered with Premier Golf, the Official Golf Travel Partner of the PGA of America.
Together, they are introducing a dedicated collection of golf voyages in 2027 and 2028. These special sailings are combining legendary fairways with Azamara’s focus on complete destination immersion.
This means longer port stays and later nights in port as well, so you can actually enjoy where the cruise ship takes you. And in this case, any avid golfer will relish in the longer time in port.
These eight voyages visit top golf regions across Ireland, Scotland, the British Isles, Northern Europe, the Pacific Coast, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Choose Your Way to Play
But do you have to be an avid golfer to enjoy one of these sailings? What makes these cruises interesting is that you don’t have to be a scratch golfer to enjoy it.
Azamara and Premier Golf structured these sailings with two different options depending on how serious you are about your game:
- The Classic Collection: If you’re a die-hard player looking to check iconic boxes off your bucket list, this is for you. Think historic courses where you’re walking the fairways with a traditional caddy.
- The Leisure Collection: If you prefer a more laid-back round, this tier features cart-friendly courses and a relaxed pace. It’s perfect for casual golfers or couples who want to mix a quick 18 holes with plenty of sightseeing in port.
For four of the European sailings, you can actually pick whichever collection fits your style best. The other four global itineraries feature a single, carefully curated golf lineup.
Where Are These Ships Headed?
All four ships in the fleet (Azamara Quest, Azamara Pursuit, Azamara Journey, and Azamara Onward) are getting in on the action with eight bucket-list itineraries:
- Pacific Coast (May 17 – 24, 2027): Cruise along the California coast on Azamara Quest with a chance to play Torrey Pines South.
- Vietnam & Thailand (October 3 – 16, 2027): Experience exotic ports and world-class golf in Southeast Asia on Azamara Pursuit.
- Australia & New Zealand (Jan 5 – 21, 2028 & Feb 15 – Mar 1, 2028): Take on incredible cliffside courses like Cape Kidnappers down under.
- Ireland Golf Intensive (May 20 – June 1, 2028): Play legendary Irish links, including Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.
- Scotland Golf Intensive (June 1 – 13, 2028): The ultimate Scottish golf getaway aboard Azamara Quest.
- British Isles & The Open (August 3 – 17, 2028): Explore the British Isles on Azamara Journey, complete with a special Sunday walking tour of the famous Old Course at St Andrews.
- Northern Europe Golf (August 21 – September 2, 2028): Tee off across Scandinavia and the Baltic region.
What Does the Golf Package Include?
These golf add-ons run anywhere from $2,050 to $6,995 per golfer on top of your regular cruise fare.
Depending on which cruise you pick, you get three to five rounds of golf. Azamara handles all the heavy lifting, too. Packages include transfers to and from the courses, golf carts or caddies, lunch at each club, and private welcome and farewell parties onboard the ship.
If you want to make a bigger trip out of it, they are also offering pre- and post-cruise land packages at famous golf spots like Mission Hills in China, Sentosa Island in Singapore, Te Arai in New Zealand, and La Jolla in California.
CEO of Azamara Cruises, Dondra Ritzenthaler, said this about the partnership:
“Golf and travel are both driven by a sense of passion and discovery, and this partnership brings those interests together in a way that is uniquely Azamara. Our guests can play some of the world’s most sought-after courses while experiencing the intimate ships, longer stays and destination immersion that set Azamara Cruises apart. It’s a new way to think about a golf getaway where the journey between rounds becomes part of the experience.”
