Norwegian Cruise Line is raising the price of their daily service charges on cruises. This is their first increase since April 1, 2018.
The cruise line sent out the following message about the rate increase that will go into effect on April 1, 2019:
“Norwegian Cruise Line is making a nominal adjustment to its daily service charges, effective April 1, 2019. Norwegian’s discretionary daily service charges make it easy for guests to provide gratuities to the onboard staff dedicated to delivering superior guest service throughout the cruise.
The new rates are:
- $14.99 per person per day for any category up to a mini-suite stateroom
- $17.99 per person per day for any suite or The Haven category
Any guest that has made a booking by March 31, 2019 will have the option of prepaying their service charges at the current rate if done prior to sail date. Guests with existing cruise reservations who have already pre-paid their service charges at the current rate are not affected.”
This is an increase of $0.49 per day, per passenger for all guests 3 years and older. This is slightly smaller than the last increase of $0.51 per day.
These prices do not include all-inclusive cruises on Norwegian Sky or Norwegian Sun (Port Canaveral sailings only). Daily service charges on these two cruise ships is $5.49 more per day, per passenger.
