New Cruise Line, Virgin Voyages, Will Be Adults Only

The most anticipated new cruise line in years, Virgin Voyages, has announced that they will be adults only as the keel of their first ship was laid at the shipyard.

Also, the first few details about his new cruise line have also been announced giving us a small glimpse into this new cruise line from Virgin.

While itineraries have yet to be released for their first ship that will sail out of Miami, Florida, future passengers can now put down a $500 fully refundable deposit for pre-sale access.

What do we know about Virgin Voyages? This new cruise line promises to change cruising forever. From dining and entertainment to wellness and rejuvenation, nearly every single element of the Virgin Voyages journey will bring a unique Virgin Style to the high seas – and not just for our 2800 Sailors, but also for the 1150 crew members who will reside there and make amazing happen.

All passengers must be 18 years and older to sail with Virgin Voyages.

Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Voyages, gave the following statement: “We basically decided, ‘Let’s have a blank sheet of paper, let’s create the kind of voyage company that we would like to go on,’ and that’s what we’ve done.”

They will be the first in the industry to partner with the clean energy start-up, Climeon to effectively turn heat waste into energy, saving stacks of CO2 and making our ships as ocean friendly as possible.

Virgin Voyages assembled a ‘Creative Collective’ from some of the world’s leading design firms to help them redefine what people expect from a cruise ship. These creators are responsible for some of the most talked about travel spaces in the world, including Ace Hotels, The Standard High Line and Mondrian Hotels.

Equally important to the ship’s physical design is the desire to create a meaningful experience for guests. Virgin Voyages will feature exciting ideas in entertainment and music to provide our Sailors (not passengers or cruisers) with a strong variety of programming options.

In fact, it won’t be a cruise at all. It will be a voyage!
