Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class cruise ships are the largest cruise ships in the world. When the cruise line’s next ship in the class debuts, it will be the biggest cruise ship ever built.
Wonder of the Seas will debut in 2022 and be just under 230,000 gross tons in size. For comparison, the Titanic was only around 46,000 gross tons and Wonder of the Seas will be roughly five times bigger. The ship is currently under construction at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France and construction photos were recently published online.
Wonder of the Seas will offer cruises from China and the arrival of the biggest cruise ship in the world will continue to raise the bar and lead the Chinese cruise industry into a new era.
Wonder of the Seas will combine the iconic seven-neighborhood concept that her sister ships feature along with a bold lineup of thrilling experiences, imaginative dining, unparalleled entertainment and the latest technology. More information on Wonder’s itineraries and brand-new adventures will be announced soon.
Royal Caribbean’s CEO Michael Bayley said the following about Wonder of the Seas when the ship was announced: “Royal Caribbean is known for its innovation and constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, and an Oasis Class ship in China is proof of that. Wonder of the Seas will redefine the ultimate vacation and be revolutionary in her own right, and she marks one of Royal Caribbean’s most exciting chapters to come.”
