However, cruise ships are set to begin returning to Key West this Sunday.  Royal Caribbean has announced that Empress of the Seas has been cleared to visit the port on September 24, 2017.

In addition to Key West, the cruise line also stated that Havana, Cuba was ready to welcome cruise ships.

While Key West and Havana will be open for cruise ship traffic, several popular ports in the Caribbean remain closed due to hurricane damage.  The ports that remain closed are St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Grand Turk, and San Juan.  However, San Juan is tentatively scheduled to reopen this coming week for cruises that originate out of the port.  A timetable has not yet been given when cruise ships will begin making day stops in San Juan.
