Hurricanes Force Carnival to Alter Three Cruises

Hurricane Jerry, Hurricane Lorena, and Tropical Storm Mario have forced Carnival Cruise Line to alter cruises on three ships this coming week.

Hurricane Jerry currently has maximum sustained winds of 80 mph and is located northeast of St. Maarten. The storm is expected to move north towards Bermuda early next week.

The hurricane forced Carnival Cruise Line to change the following two itineraries:

Carnival Breeze – departing Saturday 9/21/19
The original itinerary included a three day stay in Bermuda. Due to the path of Hurricane Jerry, the cruise ship will now go to San Juan, Amber Cove and Grand Turk. Guests will receive a 25% FCC (Future Cruise Credit) as a gesture of goodwill and will not have the option to cancel and receive any compensation.

Carnival Sunshine – departing Sunday 9/22/19
The original itinerary included a two day stay in Bermuda. Due to the path of Hurricane Jerry, the ship will now call on Princess Cays and overnight in Nassau. Guests will receive a 25% FCC (Future Cruise Credit) as a gesture of goodwill and will not have the option to cancel and receive any compensation.

On the West Coast, Carnival made one change due to two storms.

Carnival Splendor – departing Saturday 9/21/19
Due to the paths of Tropical Storm Mario and Hurricane Lorena, it will be necessary to reverse the order of the itinerary to stay a safe distance from the storms. No compensation or option to cancel since Carnival is delivering the full itinerary.

Additionally, Carnival Cruise Line is monitoring the cruises on Carnival Elation and Carnival Horizon departing Saturday, 9/21/19, but does not expect any impact to their itineraries at this time.
